Kimpton Suntaya Bali Ubud names marcomms lead

Ian Kusuma has joined the pre-opening team at Kimpton Suntaya Bali Ubud as Director of Marketing & Communications. Based in Indonesia, he spearheads a suite of communications activities, including strategic communications, press relations, crisis management, events, and partnerships.

Prior to this, Ian served in a similar role at Hotel Indigo Bali Seminyak Beach.

Grand Mercure Khao Lak Bangsak names marcomms manager

Touchapol Boonyaratseranee (Peak) has been promoted to Marketing Communication Manager at Grand Mercure Khao Lak Bangsak. In this role, he leads the hotel’s communications and PR strategy, overseeing campaign development, media outreach and brand storytelling initiatives. Peak also manages PR narratives, influencer collaborations and partnership campaigns to strengthen the property’s positioning and visibility.

Netflix taps former Google comms leader for APAC role

Netflix has appointed Joy Albert as Vice President of Communications for the Asia Pacific region, effective 9th March 2026, as announced by Chief Communications Officer, Dani Dudeck.
Based in Singapore, Joy joins from Google, where she spent more than 12 years leading communications and public affairs across Asia Pacific for the Google brand and YouTube. Early in her career, she advised technology, media, and consumer goods brands across Asia and Europe, including FrieslandCampina, Burson, and Bertelsmann.

Alae Khaldi moves to Saudi Arabia, takes on new hospitality role

 Alae Khaldi has joined Rosewood Hotels & Resorts as Cluster Director of Communications. Moving to Saudi Arabia from Bali, he is responsible for leading integrated marketing, communications, digital and visual content efforts for the pre-opening of several Rosewood properties: Rosewood AMAALA and Rosewood Red Sea. 

In Bali, Alae was a Multi-Property Director of Marketing Communications for The St.Regis and The Luxury Collection. Before that, he was in comms roles with Banyan Tree Group in Thailand and Morocco.

On his appointment, Alae said, “Rosewood has always stood apart for the way it tells stories that feel considered and deeply rooted in place. To join the brand at this moment, and to help shape the narratives of two new destinations in Saudi Arabia, is both a responsibility and a privilege. I’ve been deeply impressed by the country, its culture, and its vision for the years ahead. I’m excited to contribute to building experiences and communications that honor that spirit and carry Rosewood’s philosophy forward with care.”
