The International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) NSW Chapter has announced its 2026 Board, with Patrick Armstrong continuing to lead as President.
A globally experienced strategic communications leader, Patrick's career spans financial services, consultancy, higher education, IT, and government. He also lectures in communications, marketing, and brand at UNSW Business School.
Supporting him are newly appointed Co‑Vice Presidents Rhys Kelly and Lucy Hose, who step into expanded leadership roles. Rhys, who will also serve as Treasurer, brings leadership experience across brand, communications, fundraising, crisis management, and advocacy, while Lucy specialises in strategic engagement and change communication.
They are joined by newly appointed Directors Ali Al‑Naseri, Phillippa Baume, Kate Hamilton, Kate Neilson, and Camille Penrose, alongside Thought Leadership Advisor Michael Vincent and Board Associate Mahir Munot. Returning Directors Helen Pennock, who stays on as secretary, and Hallie Donkin and Mione Collins will remain on the Board, with Hallie and Mione continuing to lead the NSW Chapter's events program.
Outgoing directors include Asha Oberoi, Jeremy Hyman, and Paula Batho.
The newly formed board will be focusing on strengthening professional development opportunities for communicators, expanding member networks across sectors, improving global IABC standards in ethics, strategy, and measurement, fostering a friendly, vibrant community, and remaining as an ongoing career partner for members.

FTI Consulting has announced a series of senior appointments to the financial communications and special situations practice within its strategic communications segment across Asia.
Kainoa Blaisdell has rejoined FTI Consulting as a Managing Director in Singapore as previously reported on Telum.
Joining Kainoa in Singapore is Justin Teh, who has also returned to the consultancy as Senior Director. He brings experience advising on multi-stakeholder transactions, including M&A, IPOs, activism defence, and restructurings. In his new role, Justin also supports clients with investor relations programmes, as well as advises asset and wealth management firms across the region on issues management and corporate reputation strategies.
In Hong Kong, Rita Fong has been promoted to Managing Director. Her remit includes leading financial communications engagements in Hong Kong, specialising in deal advisory, investor relations, and crisis management for listed companies. Rita will also advise clients on a range of M&A and special situations, including shareholder disputes, activism, proxy fights, hostile takeovers, and restructurings.
The appointments build on the arrival of Jason Leow as a Senior Managing Director based in Singapore in December 2025, as previously reported on Telum.
