Truescope has launched a new survey for communications, PR, and public affairs professionals across Australia and New Zealand, examining whether comms teams are watching the channels that shape what their stakeholders think, and whether they find out fast enough when something matters.
The survey asks which media channels teams monitor, which they believe shape stakeholder perceptions, how often they check coverage, how they report to leadership and boards, and how they use AI.
John Croll, CEO and Co-Founder of Truescope, said the way comms teams learn about their coverage in 2026 has not kept pace with where that coverage now comes from.
"Years ago, media monitoring meant the morning papers and the evening news. Now a podcast or a creator's post can shape how a board, a regulator, or a client sees an organisation before it ever reaches a masthead," he said.
"What I hear from comms leaders is that they are watching more than ever and still finding out late. Sometimes the CEO hears about a story before the comms team does. We want to put real ANZ numbers on that, so teams here can benchmark themselves against their peers rather than against research written for other markets."
The survey closes on Friday, 13 November, with results to be reported in aggregate. Participants can opt in to receive an early copy of the results.
The findings will be published in The State of Corporate Comms ANZ report, alongside commentary from ANZ comms leaders, and made available to download on Truescope's website.
