Suncorp New Zealand selects its PR partner

Insurance provider, Suncorp New Zealand (comprising Vero Insurance), has appointed independent agency One Plus One Communications as its New Zealand PR partner.

Suncorp's Executive Manager of Marketing, Corporate Affairs and Sustainability, Campbell Hodgetts, said he was impressed by One Plus One's results and industry expertise.

"One Plus One brings the kind of strategic thinking and sector understanding we need to help communicate our role as an insurer in safeguarding Aotearoa today and into the future. Since starting they've already got some runs on the board and we're looking forward to what's to come," he added.

One Plus One's Founder and Managing Director, Kelly Bennett, said: "The insurance sector underpins New Zealand’s whole economy, so we're proud to support Suncorp as they make a real difference for Kiwis through financial protection and advocacy.

The Queensland Council of Social Service (QCOSS) has brought in Kristina Smith as DFV Peak Communications Officer. The role will see her lead communications work for the establishment of Queensland’s new domestic and family violence peak body.

Kristina brings senior agency experience, including her recent time as Communications Director at a Brisbane-based agency. She has also shared her expertise as a sessional academic and guest lecturer at The University of Queensland in stakeholder engagement, PR and crisis communication.

Australian government relations firm, Hawker Britton, has appointed Tim Grey-Smith as Director in its Perth office, with a focus on Western Australia and Commonwealth Government work.

Tim joined from Community Employers WA, where he served as Executive Director since 2023. He is a seasoned policy, advocacy, and government relations advisor, having held roles across not-for-profits, government relations agencies, and both state and local governments.

Camilla d'Abo takes on new leadership role to lead UAE business

Action Global Communications has named Camilla d’Abo to head up its UAE operations.In this role, she takes on the mandate to grow the business, succeeding Euan Megson, who over the past decade, has scaled the firm into a team of over 100 across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and beyond. Euan is now taking on the role of MENA Director, overseeing Action’s footprint across Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.

With over 25 years in the business, Camilla has built and led agencies and advised global brands. Her portfolio includes being the Co-founder of DABO & CO until its acquisition by Edelman in 2015. After that, she went on to lead Edelman DABO, and then held senior leadership roles at APCO Worldwide and most recently, WPP's BPG UAE.

“Camilla’s arrival is a statement of intent,” said Euan. “She brings an entrepreneurial edge, global perspective, and a proven ability to lead agencies through growth and transformation.”
