Journalist Elliot Wilson begins new chapter with wealth advisory venture

After 25 years as a journalist, Elliot Wilson has set out on his own to create a wealth advisory firm, Edington Advisors.

For the past five years, Elliot was Euromoney's Global Private Banking and Wealth Management Editor. Since 2022, he'd also doubled up as the publication's Asia Editor.

He felt the time was right to launch his own firm, saying: "At Euromoney, I interviewed many of the world's leading wealth managers and oversaw the magazine's prestigious annual private banking awards. That let me see how the wealth industry worked on the inside - how the sausage is made, as they say. And I just felt it was time to take what I'd learned and set out to build my own new thing."

Elliot said Edington Advisors aims to support wealth managers, family offices, and private banks by aligning wealth with purpose.

"The wealth industry is growing staggeringly fast, yet there are so many individuals, families and firms whose needs aren't being fully served. We want to help them figure out what money means to them, and to communicate that with clarity and win recognition - through awards strategies, thought leadership, and values-driven storytelling."

Alex Malouf sets up new comms advisory in Riyadh

Narrative Shapers has launched in Riyadh, offering communications advisory services, media and communications training, and event support across the Gulf. Founded by Alex Malouf, an industry veteran who has worked across the region for 25 years, the advisory was formed to help executives, founders, or officials in the Gulf region tell their story internationally.

“This region has such powerful stories, of change, of growth and of transformation, and we owe it to tell those stories to the wider world, so that audiences globally can know more about all the positive developments which are happening here. Narrative Shapers will help with bridging this gap, so that we can raise awareness of the success of national initiatives such as Vision 2030," said Alex.

"The more that the world understands this region and its people, the more opportunities will arise in areas such as foreign direct investment, in foreign real estate ownership, and inbound tourism."
