Memac Ogilvy has appointed Yasser Hamdy as Managing Partner. Based in Dubai, Yasser oversees Memac Ogilvy PR’s client portfolio, providing strategic counsel to senior leaders and guiding integrated communications strategies across the agency’s key accounts.
Yasser has been with Memac Ogilvy for more than seven years, holding roles across Dubai and the wider region. His career spans the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Egypt, where he has advised government entities and global and regional brands across sectors. Prior to joining Ogilvy, he held positions at BLJ Worldwide and Grey Group in Qatar.
“I’m excited to take on this role and continue building on the work we’ve done across the region. We have an incredible portfolio of clients and a hugely talented team, and I’m looking forward to working with both to deliver work that has a real impact, at a time when the region’s influence and relevance on the global stage continues to grow,” said Yasser on his appointment.
Jayitri Smiles has been appointed Media and Communications Manager at Vanguard Australia. She has moved in-house after five and a half years at Keep Left, most recently as Senior Account Director. Prior to this, Jayitri was a real estate reporter for News Corp.
Cathy Tobin has started at the NSW Department of Education as Strategic Communications Manager, Aboriginal Outcomes and Equity. She has wrapped up her time at Navitas, most recently as Communications Director, University Partnerships Australasia. Prior to this, Cathy held strategic comms and media roles in government and the private sector, and ran her own consulting business.
