AMEX names regional corp affairs and sponsorship head

American Express (AMEX) Middle East has elevated Fatema Bastaki to the role of Regional Head of Corporate Affairs and Sponsorship, overseeing its key markets in the Middle East from Bahrain. Fatema joined AMEX in 2023, bringing expertise in strategic 360 communications, public affairs, branding, sustainability, partnerships, events and crisis management, having led transformative initiatives across industries, primarily in the financial sector.

Prior to AMEX, she has been instrumental in driving high-impact projects, including supporting financial empowerment through Bahrain’s first female-only credit card and contributing to strategic communications within the payment industry.
