ICRC brings in former journo as regional comms officer

Ahmed Ghanam has joined the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in its Cairo Regional Communication Center (RCC) as Regional Communications Officer. In this role, his remit covers the Near and Middle East (NAME) region, specifically Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Israel and the Occupied Territories, Kuwait (ICRC's regional hub), Yemen, and Iran. From the Kuwait hub, the team also supports the GCC states, which include Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

Ahmed brings more than a decade of experience in journalism and strategic communications, having previously served as Executive Editor and Managing Editor at Al-Dustour newspaper.
