Hamish Cardwell moves to comms as Senior Communications Advisor

International alliance of independent corporate affairs executive search firms, Global Communications Search Partnership (GCSP), has welcomed Australian corporate affairs search firm, Temple Executive Search.

Founded in 2013 by Rebecca Tabakoff and Ross Thornton, Temple Executive Search joins Taylor Birchwood (UK and the Middle East), Heyman Associates (US), the newly merged GKPRCC (Germany), and Barber Search (Hong Kong). Each firm remains focused on its home market, while collaborating on cross-border searches.

Rebecca and Ross will also join the GCSP board as part of the agreement.

Rebecca said: “We are so excited to be part of the GCSP. For years we have been talking to each other, because we all shared the same relentless focus on being the experts in corporate affairs in our markets. While we remain an independent business, we can now bring our collective expertise and shared experience together for our clients, candidates and our industry.”

Powerhouse has brought in Sarah Smith as its new Head of Communications. In her role, she will be leading communications and reputation for the opening of Powerhouse Parramatta and across Powerhouse Ultimo, Castle Hill and Sydney Observatory.

She was formerly Head of Communications at Sydney Opera House and Head of Marketing & Communications at Bundanon Trust. Her broader career includes senior communications roles with the Foxtel Group, ABC, Fairfax Media, Stan / Nine Entertainment and Universal Music Australia, as well as consulting across the cultural, media and entertainment sectors.

Laura Mangham has been promoted to the role of Senior Public Relations Manager at Tourism Tasmania. She was previously PR, Advocacy and Partnerships Manager. Prior to this, Laura was at ENTHRAL, following a career in journalism at Nine.
