The Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia has welcomed Vanessa Barratt as Director of Communications. Working with the team on a part-time basis while working on a PhD, she made the move after four and a half years at Southern NSW Local Sector - Health District, where she spearheaded their communications and engagement functions as Media and Communications Director.
With a career spanning more than two decades, Vanessa has held senior roles across the science, environment, Sector - Healthcare, and not-for-profit sectors, working across regions including China, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK.
