Current Global MENAT adds airport operator to client roster

Dubai Airports, the operator of Dubai International (DXB) and Dubai World Central - Al Maktoum International (DWC), has appointed Current Global MENAT as its strategic public relations agency, following a competitive pitch.

The team will partner with Dubai Airports to deliver integrated campaigns and proactive media engagement.

Commenting on the partnership, Michelle Lee, VP Brand & Communications, Dubai Airports, said "As Dubai Airports transforms into a hospitality-driven organisation, we need to move to a more agile, digitally-driven and integrated marketing and communications approach, that makes the most of the latest tools, technologies and thinking. Working alongside our existing MCN partners, Current Global will help us deliver truly integrated internal and external communications through impactful and innovative storytelling, with earned at the centre."

Peter Jacob, Managing Director, Current Global MENAT added, "Dubai Airports is at the forefront of global aviation overseeing both DXB, the busiest international airport in the world and DWC, the airport of the future. It's a business that represents so much more than just travel. It's the first and last impression of Dubai for millions of people. Its people embody the very spirit of the city. It's so closely aligned to the Dubai growth story. We couldn't be happier to have been appointed and to work with the world-class brand and communications team at Dubai Airports and with our friends across MCN."

The agency is part of the wider Middle East Communications Network (MCN), which includes agencies already supporting Dubai Airports, such as Jack Morton, MRM, and Magna. Together, they work as a single team to support Dubai Airports across every touchpoint and stakeholder group.

"Dubai Airports is one of the region's most iconic and strategically important brands, and we are proud to deepen our partnership through this appointment. It reflects the growing demand from clients for seamless, efficient, and integrated solutions, powered by specialist agencies working as one connected team," said Ghassan Harfouche, CEO of MCN MENAT and President of McCann Worldgroup APAC.

GWPR announces recipient of its 2025 Australia Mentoring Scholarship

GWPR Australia has announced Maya Ivanovic, Associate Director - Client Services at Palin Communications, as the recipient of its inaugural 2025 GWPR Mentoring Scholarship.

Delivered in partnership with Beaumont People, the fully funded scholarship provides Maya with access to Beaumont People's 6-month LEAD Program, designed to improve leadership capabilities, executive presence, and career development. The program includes personalised mentoring, strengths-based coaching, interactive masterclasses, and strategic networking opportunities.

The pilot scholarship initiative was launched to address what the organisation described as a critical gap in professional development, supporting early to mid-career women in PR and corporate affairs, a cohort it says is often overlooked by existing coaching and mentoring programs.

GWPR Australia launched the local mentoring program with CPRA and Beaumont People as a pilot program in early 2025, with an aim to make mentoring accessible, practical, and tailored to real-world challenges faced by women in the communications industry.

Chair of the GWPR Australia Mentoring program, Carden Calder, said: "The response from the women who applied, and who took our offer of feedback up, was shocking. Every single participant we spoke to cited a lack of mentors in the profession, the difficulty of accessing quality mentorship, and the gaping absence of programs that go beyond role-specific skills development."

Reflecting on her selection, Maya said, "The LEAD program is an opportunity for me to step out of my everyday and invest in my development with intent. I'm looking forward to learning and mentorship that challenges my thinking, explores different leadership styles, and exposes me to important feedback to help me build executive-level confidence and clarity."
