Cathay Pacific brings in Ivan Chan to lead corporate affairs

Cathay Pacific has welcomed Ivan Chan as General Manager Corporate Affairs. His new appointment sees him leading Cathay Pacific's corporate communication, government relations, strategic engagement, and community engagement in order to promote and protect the group's reputation.

Before taking up the full role on 16th March 2026, Ivan currently serves in the capacity of General Manager Corporate Affairs-Designate. His predecessor, Andy Wong, who has been with Cathay for 25 years, will transition into a new role within the Swire Group.

This move marks Ivan's return to Hong Kong's flag carrier. His journey with the group first started in 2008, when he joined Dragonair (later Cathay Dragon) to oversee public affairs, corporate communications, and media relations. He later moved to Cathay Pacific Airways to manage a similar remit for both carriers up until his departure in 2016.

With over 20 years of experience, Ivan has worked with listed companies, government organisations, and communications agencies. He most recently served as General Manager Group Public Affairs at John Swire & Sons (H.K.) and counts Brunswick and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data, Hong Kong among his portfolio.
