Botanic Gardens of Sydney has appointed Rachael Hammond as Director of Marketing, Partnerships and Experiences. She made the move from the Art Gallery of New South Wales, where she was Head of Marketing, Communications and Tourism for the past four years.
During her tenure at the Art Gallery, Rachael oversaw the marketing and communications strategy for the opening of the new Naala Badu building, spearheaded the introduction of a tourism strategy and introduced the Art Gallery's "Art for all" brand platform.
Committed to the mission of for-purpose organisations, Rachael brings more than 20 years of experience in brand strategy, marketing, communications, and business development acquired in the arts, culture, and entertainment sectors. Prior to the Art Gallery of New South Wales, she held leadership roles at the ABC and BBC Worldwide.
Rachael said: "I am thrilled to be joining the Executive team at Botanic Gardens of Sydney. Just as art has the power to move and inspire, nature, plants and the environment also play a vital role in our understanding of the world. I believe in the power of connecting with nature and engagement through storytelling to inspire people to care for our environment. I’m looking forward to working with the team to amplify the incredible work of the Gardens' researchers and scientists, to grow audiences and to make a lasting impact."
