Allison Worldwide and Stagwell appoints Margaret Key as APAC lead

Industry veteran Margaret Key has been named Chief Executive Officer, Allison Asia and Executive Director, Asia Pacific of Stagwell, effective from 1st October.

She will be based in Singapore, reporting to Allison Worldwide CEO, Jonathan Heit. In her new role with Allison, Margaret will oversee the growth of the firm in APAC, including expansion plans and business strategy. As Stagwell’s APAC Executive Director, she will steer regional market development and client engagement within the entire Stagwell network.

“Margaret is a proven force in our industry, and her appointment signals an exciting new chapter for our Asia Pacific clients and communications business,” said Ray Day, Executive Chair at Allison Worldwide and Vice Chair at Stagwell. “She also shares our dedication to every client’s success through a world-class team delivering world-class results.”

Margaret brings more than two decades of strategic expertise and leadership experience to this dual appointment. Most recently, she served as CEO for Publicis’ MSL Group, Asia Pacific, spearheading its development into a regional network and delivering business growth and expansion. Before this, Margaret held roles at Edelman and Burson-Marsteller, Asia Pacific.

Lachlan Johnston and Tom Callachor have come together to launch Sedgwick Advisers, a new Australian-based reputation management, strategic communications, and public affairs advisory firm.

Sedgwick Advisers offers a range of services spanning strategic communications and reputation management, crisis and issues management, litigation and investigation support, regulatory and government affairs, and executive positioning and stakeholder engagement.

The pair bring more than 55 years’ combined experience, having previously advised ASX-listed companies, private organisations, industry bodies, and high-profile individuals.

A journalist turned communications professional, Lachlan has more than 30 years’ experience, with roles in Australia and the UK. He has held senior positions at companies including Woolworths Group, Morrow Sodali, Qantas, and AMP.

Tom brings more than 25 years’ experience in public affairs, regulation, and communications, spanning sectors including gambling, entertainment, sport, and healthcare. He has also spent part of his career as an ASX executive and in government as Chief of Staff to several ministers.
