Wynn Al Marjan Island strengthens comms with senior hires

Wynn Al Marjan Island has welcomed two senior leaders to strengthen the brand’s communications and marketing efforts for the resorts.

Gemma Acton (pictured, left) has been appointed Vice President, Head of Marketing, to lead the marketing, PR and communications department. She has worked across finance and broadcast media for more than two decades. Before joining Wynn, Gemma was the Director of News Operations at Seven West Media, as well as a regular guest commentator and host on the network’s broadcast programmes. Prior to this, she spent seven years as the Network Finance Editor and a presenter at Seven News.

Before moving home to Australia in 2017, Gemma was a presenter at CNBC in London and spent a decade in investment banking and wealth management, having worked with Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch and PIMCO in Europe, the U.S. and the Middle East.

Returning to the UAE, Rebecca Hall (pictured, right) has taken on the role of Executive Director of Public Relations and Communications. In this role, she oversees the PR and Communications for the USD5.1 billion integrated resort currently under construction in Ras Al Khaimah.

Rebecca moved from Minor Hotels in Bangkok, where she served as Area Director of Public Relations and Communications. Prior to this, she spent nearly a decade with Atlantis Resorts in Dubai. Rebecca also brings PR experience from Halpern, Yellowdoor, Primal PR and McCann Erickson in the UK.
